-Ophelia Young
Ophelia Young was born in Harlem, New York City and grew up in a village in Northern Austria. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, Ophelia danced full time with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch for many years. From 2021 she starts working free-lance.
Joins Ballett Basel for season 23/24. Participates in Saburo Teshigawara’s creation Verwandlung, and performs in both pieces “Metamorphose” and “Like a Human”.
