Dance of Air

This is a work created for 13 young dancers by Saburo Teshigawara. He worked with these 13 teenagers for a year, teaching them the method of his dance. And the result turned out into a beautiful performance. The most important thing in Teshigawara’s method is breathing. Each of the dancers encountered with their own breathing, and thus the air which surrounds them. A reality so real and pure, that even the formelss becomes visible. Produced by the New National Theatre Tokyo and KARAS.
"…the joy of creation and the breath of life are born. This is because Teshigawara didn’t make a dance for children, but because they both kept on trying to aim for a new horizon of dance itself." [The Asahi ]
